Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy for Pets at Concord Veterinary Hospital

We’re excited to offer cold laser therapy—a safe, drug-free, and non-invasive treatment designed to reduce pain, inflammation, and healing time for pets.

Laser therapy uses red and infrared light to stimulate cellular activity, enhance blood flow, and support tissue repair. It’s commonly used to reduce swelling and discomfort after surgery or dental procedures and can be an effective addition to treatments like acupuncture, orthopedic care plans, and acute case management (like hot spots).

What Can Laser Therapy Help With?

Laser therapy can benefit pets with a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Post-surgical healing
  • Dental procedure recovery
  • Arthritis and degenerative joint disease
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Neuromuscular conditions
  • Skin and ear infections
  • Hot spots and other localized inflammation

How Does It Work?

Cold laser therapy focuses red and infrared light on targeted tissue to energize cells, increase circulation, and promote healing. It stimulates collagen production, encourages vascular dilation, and triggers the release of the body’s natural pain-relieving hormones.

Most sessions last just 5–10 minutes, and many pets show noticeable improvement after just 3–5 treatments. Relief can continue for up to 24 hours after each session.

Part of a Holistic Approach

At Concord Veterinary Hospital, we often pair laser therapy with other modalities such as acupuncture, orthopedic rehabilitation plans, and traditional medications to create the most effective treatment for your pet’s specific needs.
